Step 1: Watch Two Film Clips

A.) You are going to watch two film clips about two persons who started their own retail businesses. After watching and listening to these film clips, answer the questions below. These will help you orientate about your own shop that you will be creating later on.

    1. Sarah Garlich opened her business in Missouri. What was the reason that she chose for that location?

    2. In the film clip, Sarah talks about an idea for the shop she used to make her shop successful. What is that idea and why do you think it is appreciated by people (customers) so much?

    3. A consultant is someone who gives you advice and helps you to stay in the right direction. Why has Sarah’s consultant been so important to her?

    1. Jill Anderson makes her customers feel special and experience shopping on another level. She is a customer-oriented salesperson. How does she show that in her store and/or way of selling her products?

    2. What advice does Jill Anderson give when a conversation between the retail store owner and customer dies?

    3. Is Jill in favour of selling in a store or an online store? Explain the reason she gives for her choice.
